Effects of Crack Cocaine Addiction

Crack Cocaine is nothing but the form of cocaine which is used by smoking it. It usually found in crystalline rock shapes which looks like small rocks. Since it is inhaled in vapor form it reaches the brain faster when compared to other forms of usage. Since it reaches the brain quickly it also shows the affects in a more faster way.
That's the reason why crack cocaine became more addictive. It is combined with some other ingredients like baking soda or ammonia which made it cheaply available than the original cocaine.

The adverse effects produced by crack cocaine are more than the original cocaine. It effects the functioning of the major parts of the brain along with some other body parts. Let us see some of the harmful effects of crack on our body.
  • Crack Cocaine makes the blood vessels carrying blood to heart much smaller and thus increases the blood pressure. It results in heart attacks even in healthy individuals.
  • It affects the central nervous system immediately. It works as a stimulant inducing the feeling of wakefulness, high energy and euphoria.
  • Crack cocaine can be caught up by the fat cells of the body and as a result, the build up of drug toxins increases in the body. These stored toxins slowly release in to the blood after long gaps. This makes some people feel like drugged even after they stopped using drugs from a long time.
  • Cocaine may produce hallucinations and other aggressive behaviors and poor judgment.
  • The drug is also dangerous due to flammability factor, which causes accidental explosions.
  • Some of the mental disturbances include depression, anxiety, sleep disturbance, craving for drugs etc.,
  • Even with drawl from this dangerous drug includes many unpleasant symptoms like apathy, disorientation, irritation and oversleep.
These are some of the effects of crack cocaine which shows adverse affects on our health.
