Bad Effects of Alcohol on Women

Alcohol and women is not a good match in my opinion. If you ask me why, I have an answer for your question. Many researches have shown that the effects of having even small quantities of alcohol will show a lot of adverse effects on a women’s health when compared to men. So, it is clear that
heavy drinking is much more risky. 60% of US women consuming alcohol is not a little thing. Among them 13% of women take more than seven drinks a week, which is not an acceptable quantity for women as said by US Department of Health and Human services. And they also warned that women under the age of 21 and pregnant women should not take alcohol at all.

Let us see how alcohol effects women’s health.
  • Even taking little amount of alcohol impairs a persons ability to drive. So, chances of getting in to accidents after having a drink are more in women.
  • Studies and researches have shown that having as little as one drink per day will increase the risk of breast cancers, especially for women who have family back ground of breast cancers.
  • Alcohol is more interactive with medicines used for heart and blood vessel diseases, diabetes and digestive problems. So, consuming alcohol after having this kind of medicines will cause side effects and sometimes result in depression.
  • Pregnant women having alcohol suhttp://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gifffer from fetal alcohol syndrome, which results in adverse effects in the unborn baby.
  • Women may get easily addicted to alcohol when compared to men. Even though they have in less quantities than men, it costs high to their health.
  • Long term drinking increase the risk of women becoming the victim of violence and sexual assault.
  • Their liver may get effected by alcoholic hepatitis and cirrhosis, which in some cases lead to death.
  • Cardiovascular diseases are also observed in women taking heavy alcohol which leads to severe heart diseases.
