Impact of Junk Emails on Corporates

Unsolicited email was first considered a bit of joke earning the jocular name of spam. However, as the spam volumes rose to epidemic proportions what was a minor crisis in the life of an IT professional soon snowballed into a major crisis. Factual figures estimate that spam amounts to nearly 95 percent of all emails. According to reports from Jupiter Research the active email consumer received an astonishing 3253 pieces of spam in 2005.

This matter has to be taken up seriously these days. The daily flood of junk email has an adverse effect on the corporations by clogging their networks and filling up mail server bandwidth. It can also act as a gateway for serious network related threats such as Trojans, viruses, worms, and phishing scams that penetrate corporate networks. The cost of spam not just involves the cost of providing the extra bandwidth but also encompasses all the IT Departments protecting their organizations from the various threats as just seen.

Spam is a driving force behind the increasing number of data breaches in the corporate world. The impact of international awareness and the enforcement of anti-spam laws in countries like USA have forced the spammers to shift their operations to countries where the law is less regulated. According to the IT security firm Sophos, the spam operators are working hand in glove with hackers and virus' writers with 60 percent of all spam coming from computers infected with malware. According to Webroot Software's State of Spyware report 2005 was considered as the biggest year yet for spyware.

Apart from just the security threats the firms face from spam, there are concerns that are even more serious the firms face. In today's world where corporate ethics matter a lot, firms are increasingly accountable for the actions of their employees. Any offensive message from a disgruntled employee can tarnish the name of the organization. Since there can be no definitive solution, the only way to reduce the threats of the email related threats is to deploy ever more sophisticated server side filtering to filter out spam and malicious emails from reaching the network.

A survey of Bank of Scotland (BoS) has found that about 37 percent of UK small firms were badly hit due to unsolicited spam, viruses, and faxes. The study has found that though the cost of minor data losses and firewalls is less than 1000 Pounds a year for two-thirds of small firms a full-scale virus attack can be terminal on entrepreneurs on tight budgets. For over fifty firms polled, it was found that there was one firm approximately, for which the cost of the viruses exceeded 10,000 Pounds a year. A further 40 percent of the managers claimed that junk email significantly added to their costs, while one in ten lost an estimated 10,000 Pounds a year through lost productivity and purchasing email filtering systems. Though laws have come up which state that individuals are not allowed to send emails or any other means of communication without prior permission, these are valid only in the UK and did not provide any help in reducing the flood of spam in the USA.

According to Eddie Morrison of BoS computer viruses are clearly one of the scourges of our business age. He observes that it has become increasingly easy for small firms to be bombarded with multiple unsolicited emails and faxes for advertising and other purposes.

Small firms are even more vulnerable to spam with a junk of them still without a junk email policy. The research conducted by Clearswift has found that 34 percent of small companies do not have measures in place to combat spam, while a further 57 percent of firms with a policy of not communicating about it to the staff.

UK businesses seem to be doing little in their efforts to prevent and bring down spam with just a quarter reporting spam to their IT personnel. A significant proportion of the employees around 22 percent had responded to spam offers with only 7 percent of employers taking action against them.

History Of Asian Printing

It traditionally is believed that Johannes Gutenberg, of the German city of Mainz, developed the technology of European impression around 1439 and inside just above one decade, the traditional age of the impression started, but new research can indicate that it was evolutionary more complex multiple places broken down by process. Moreover, Johann Fust and Peter Schaffer tested with Guttenberg in Mainz. Genealogically, all the mobile type modern impression can be traced again with a simple source, the press of Gutenberg which it derived from the design of long known agricultural pressures. Mobile type of Asian model is printing, which was based on the hard manual friction and which had been hardly employed, practically extinct after the introduction of the European model printing to the 15th century.

Gutenberg is also credited with the introduction of an ink based on oil which was more durable than inks based on water previously used. To have worked as a professional goldsmith, Gutenberg made the skilful use of the knowledge of metals which it had learned as a craftsman. Gutenberg was also first to make its type from alloy of wire, of tin, and of antimony, which was critical to produce the durable type which produced the books printed of high quality, and proven more adapted with the impression than the types of clay, out of wood or bronze used in Asia of the East. To create these types of wire, Gutenberg employed what some considered its more clever invention, a special wherewith of matrix that the frame of new mobile types with a precision without precedent shortly became feasible. In one year after its B42, Gutenberg also published the initially colored copies.

The invention of Gutenberg of the press revolutionized the communication and the production of driving book to the dissemination of the information. It was quickly isolated impression of Germany by the German printers of emigration, but also by the foreign apprentices turning over to the house. A press was built in Venice in 1469, and per 1500 the city had 417 printers. In Johann 1470 Heynlin installed an impression insert Paris. In Kasper 1473 Straube published the annum 1474 of advertisement of cracoviense of Almanac in Krakow. The martens of Dirk installed an impression insert Aalst (Flanders) in 1473. It printed a book concerning the two in love ones with Enea Piccolomini which became Pope Pius II.In 1476 when a press was installed in England by William Caxton. Belarusian Francysk Skaryna printed the first book in Slavic language August 6, 1517. Italian Juan Pablos installed imported insert Mexico City in 1539. The first impression insert the Southeast Asia was installed in the Philippines by the Spaniard in 1593. The day of Stephen was the first to establish an impression insert North America with the compartment of Massachusetts in 1638, and helped to establish the pressure of Cambridge.

Benefits Of Market Research

Market research is a systematic, objective collection and analysis of data about your target market, competition, and/or environment with the goal being increased understanding of them. Market Research gives a variety of data, related and non-related, which is useful in many decision-making processes. You can get some interesting facts and figures from Market Research Process. Market research is not an activity that should go on continuously. It is not a one-time activity. The Market Research in Internet for the same or different purpose is called as Internet Marketing Research. This is also equally important for the businesses.

The information gained through these researches is information that can guide your most important strategic business decisions. Market research is effective when the findings or conclusions you reach have a value that exceeds the cost of the research itself. For example, if you spend $500 on market research that yields information leading to a revenue increase of $5,000, the research was well worth it. Suppose you spend $500 on a customer survey that uncovers an unmet customer need. You will have the opportunity to offer a new product or service (or alter your existing product or service) to meet the need and gain new revenues. Some of the benefits of market research are:

  • Guides your communication with current and potential customers.
  • Helps you identify opportunities in the marketplace.
  • Minimizes the risk of doing business.
  • Uncovers and identifies potential problems.
  • Creates benchmarks and helps you track your progress.
  • Helps you evaluate your success.

Free Apartment Finder Services Make Finding Your Next Apartment Easy

May be you’ve seen advertisements about apartment finder services, or else called apartment locators. Some apartment renters are uncertain about using apartment finder services because they think there will be a cost involved. Actually the most of apartment finder services are absolutely free to the apartment hunter. Since it’s a free service, there’s no reason not to use an apartment finder.

Generally in large cities such as Chicago, Atlanta, San Diego and Houston there are hundreds of apartment complexes spread out over a very large metro area. When there are so many properties the apartment hunter can become overwhelmed with the vast number of choices available. The advantage of using these services is they have the large database of apartment and the rentals are on the market. This way you don't waste time trying to track down apartments with availability. Many apartment finder services can also narrow down choices by geographic area and sometime even neighborhood. Many apartment finder services like Orlando apartments have online databases of available apartments so you can search and learn more about the complex before visiting in person. You will be able to see photos of the apartment, floor plans, facilities and other apartment details. Try using an apartment finder the next time when you decide to move to a new apartment and see for yourself how much time and effort you will save on your next move. It makes the whole apartment hunting experience simple and hassle free.

Computer Virus - Awareness and Preparedness

Computer virus, rogue computer program, typically a short program designed to disperse copies of itself to other computers and disrupt those computers' normal operations. A computer virus usually attaches or inserts itself to or in an executable file or the boot sector of a disk; those that infect both files and boot records are called bimodal viruses. Although some viruses are merely disruptive, others can destroy or corrupt data or cause an operating system or applications program to malfunction. Computer viruses are spread via floppy disks, networks, or on-line services. Several thousand computer viruses are known, and on average three to five new strains are discovered every day. Virus programs can also infect advanced cellular telephones.

Antivirus programs and hardware have been developed to combat viruses. These search for evidence of a virus program isolate infected files, and remove viruses from a computer's software. Researchers are working to sidestep the tedious process of manually analyzing viruses and creating protections against each by developing an automated immune system for computers patterned after biological processes. In 1995 Israel became the first country to legislate penalties both for those who write virus programs and those who spread the programs. A distinction should be made between a virus—which must attach itself of another program to be transmitted—and a bomb, a worm, and a Trojan horse. A bomb is a program that resides silently in a computer's memory until it is triggered by a specific condition, such as a date. A worm is a destructive program that propagates itself over a network, reproducing as it goes. A Trojan horse is a malicious program that passes itself off as a benign application; it cannot reproduce itself and, like a virus, must be distributed by diskette or electronic mail.
  • Don't open email from strangers or attachments you weren't expecting—especially attachments with .exe extensions
  • Back up important files on floppy disks, Zip drives, or other storage devices on a regular basis, so that they can easily be replaced if a virus wipes out your hard drive
  • Install the newest anti virus software on your computer, such as Norton Anti-Virus 2000 or McAfee Virus Scan for Windows, or Virex for Macs
  • Check your software vendor's website regularly for updates that will protect against viruses and worms—like the Love Bug—released since your antiviral software was written

Training for Pigeon Racing

Pigeon racing is a sport involving the racing of specially trained Racing pigeons, a breed of domestic pigeon. In the United States flights of up to 1800 Kilometers have been recorded. Racing pigeons are housed together in a specially designed dovecote or loft. From about five weeks of age until the end of its racing career, the racing loft is the pigeon’s home and this is where it returns to on race day.

Young pigeons are trained progressively for at least six months before being allowed to compete in a race event. A racing pigeon's initial training involves familiarizing it with the loft and its surroundings and training it to use the various features of its home. It is also this critical time that the birds learn commands, such as entering the loft when the trainer whistles.

After a few weeks of initial training and 'homing in', the young birds are allowed outside for the first time. This is usually before they can fly strongly so as to prevent an overzealous pigeon from flying away before it can find its way back home. As the birds grow older, they become stronger and smarter and are therefore allowed to fly further and further away from their home loft. When a few trainers fly their pigeons in the same area, these loft flying kits (as flocks of pigeons are called) can number in the thousands. This 'loft flying' familiarizes the birds with their home area and builds fitness. It does not, however, help them much in relation to finding their home from long distances away, a fundamental of pigeon racing. As confident flyers, the young pigeons are taken on progressively longer 'training tosses', driven a distance away from their home and released. This is like the format of a real race, however on a much smaller scale and it is usually not timed in the same way as a race. This practice of loft flying and tossing continues throughout a pigeon's career.

Training methods are as varied as the pigeons themselves. Lots of fanciers believe their system is the secret to their success and guard these hard learned lessons closely; most will tell you of their basic strategy but few will share the details of their success. One of the most popular systems is widowhood. This system uses motivation to try to give the bird a sense of urgency on race day. The use of widowhood is usually begun by first allowing the racer to raise a baby in their nest box. After the baby is weaned the hen is removed and often the nest box is closed off, from then on the only time these birds are allowed to see their mate or enter the nest box is upon returning from training or a race. This conditioning is one of the key elements in a lot of racing programs.

Consumer Behavior and Problem recognition

Consumer behavior
Consumer behavior is the study of how people buy, what they buy, when they buy and why they buy. It blends elements from psychology, sociology, socio-psychology, anthropology and economics. It attempts to understand the buyer decision-making process, both individually and in groups. It studies characteristics of individual consumers such as demographics, psychographics, and behavioral variables in an attempt to understand people's wants. It also tries to assess influences on the consumer from groups such as family, friends, reference groups, and society in general.

Belch and Belch define consumer behavior as 'the process and activities people engage in when searching for, selecting, purchasing, using, evaluating, and disposing of products and services so as to satisfy their needs and desires'.

Problem recognition

Problem recognition results when there is a difference between one's desired state and one's actual state. Consumers are motivated to address this discrepancy and therefore they commence the buying process.

Sources of Problem Recognition

Sources of problem recognition include:
  • An item is out of stock
  • Dissatisfaction with a current product or service
  • Consumer needs and wants
  • Related products/purchases
  • Marketer-induced
  • New products
The relevant internal psychological process that is associated with problem recognition is motivation. A motive is a factor that compels action. Belch and Belch (2007) provide an explanation of motivation based on Maslow's hierarchy of needs and Freud's psychoanalytic theory.

Pizza - Violate Fair Wage Laws

Delivery drivers working for Pizza Hut, Kansas City filed a lawsuit against the national pizza chain alleging unfair wage practices. The Pizza Hut delivery drivers say that they received income below the required federal minimum wage.

The lawsuit, which was filed in Kansas City in May, says that delivery drivers are paid, the income that doesn’t include the cost of gas, employee’s vehicle to perform hourly wages deliveries. The hourly wage does not cover work-related cell phone usage and buying and cleaning of worker’s uniforms Pizza Hut requires. The cost to employees to work at the Pizza Hut is too high that the employee wages does not meet the minimum wage. Pizza Hut has tried to seek the dismissal of the lawsuit by stating that the company was operating within the laws and guidelines of the federal Fair Labor Standards Act, which permits a reasonable approximation of expenses.

Tips to make money from over-bought

When good times were there, people did a lot of shopping, not even caring for incomes or savings. They didn’t even care about their piling debts and carried on with their shopping. And when the times tipped over they are not able to figure out how to repay their debts.

When good times were there, people did a lot of shopping, not even caring for incomes or savings. They didn’t even care about their piling debts and carried on with their shopping. And when the times tipped over they are not able to figure out how to repay their debts.

There are many resources that can be used to sell your stuff at best prices. Internet is the best of them. Sites like Craigslist and eBay help sellers to sell off their second-hand stuff at best prices.

And then there are consignment shops where you can walk up physically. However, dealing with them is a bit tricky and doesn’t workout for many of the sellers.

If all these seem to be non-functional – go ahead and donate them for a charity. If not for the blessings, do it for the sake of tax deductions from the government.

Is The End Of Keyboard-Mobiles Soon To Come

When you have a look at the latest trend in the mobiles, which released recently, you see that most of them are avoiding the classical keyboards from their design.

What might have been the problem? Remember the old days of telephones? There used to be a small circle in the place of numbers - we have these days. Later we replaced the circle with keyboard. All this is a part of convenience and technology.

The mobiles have started with keyboards itself. But in these 31 years of mobile phones history, many changes have occurred to the design and in the working of them. A mobile phone these days is not just an instrument to call people; you can search the web, email, play games, blog, and the list is big.

If you have a mobile, then you are connected to the world. The competition in the mobiles and cell phones market has also increased tremendously over these days.

Thus, to survive the competition, companies are planning new strategies like replacing the keyboards in the mobiles with alphanumeric buttons or a touch-screen.

So, the day is very near - where people are going to bid goodbye to the trend of keyboard mobile phones.

UK Government Plans For 100 Percent Broadband Connections

Though I don’t know much about how pyramids were built, I assume that people have dragged these giant blocks of rocks all the way from the source to its construction place and did another manual feat struggling to pile those one upon the another.

Imagine working that way in these days. You cannot imagine because we have high technology to resource us with strategies to accomplish giant works with dwarf efforts. You have the technology and the only challenge before you is to take it to the people. What if you can’t even do that thing properly?

This is my question to all those governments of countries with low PC penetration and broadband connections.

The UK government has come up with its plans of high-speed broadband in every home by 2012. It has mentioned this point in its interim report on the UK's digital future.

I wish it would be successful in achieving its goal within the time.

Marijuana Explosion of California

Have you ever heard of the Mendocino county of California?

If you are into research about drug abuse or drug crops, you will hear this name as the most famous place for marijuana crops. Here you can find marijuana growing so open, that you can even find them growing in the backyards of houses.

Situated in the Northern California, Mendocino is one of those three places in the famous Emerald triangle. The other places are Humboldt and Trinity counties.

People here are very fond of the famous marijuana crop, and you can find these crops growing in even backyards of the houses. The county is estimated to get about two-thirds of its economy from this crop production.

Who would stop from producing a crop that earns around $1 billion a year, to your place? And who would stop encouraging these people from growing this crop, which earns tens of billions in the international market every year?

Isn’t it just like growing money on trees?

Retailers’ Preparation for the Future with Fewer Inventories

Retailers did not bother about shoddy businesses though they had same situation for years. They kept on investing into their business because they had enough confidence on their consumers shopping continuously. But as the recession strikes the economy, they don’t see any consumer shopping as lavishly as he did in good times. In fact people are even hesitating to shop for general things and are desperate about cutting expenditures to cope up with the recession.

So retailers now had to change their strategies of doing businesses. With the analysts predicting more bad times ahead, they started preparing to face the frugal environment out there.

The major change in the strategy here will be to reduce their inventories, as much and as soon as they can. In order to do that they are selling off their stock desperately at more and more lower rates through discount prices. The present trend is to gain more customer satisfaction than to earn big profits.

Top Five Law Firms of UK Tighten Grip on M&A Market

These are certainly challenging times going on globally for businesses as well as employees in pink-slipping companies.

But there are some companies which are desperately working to turn these times favorable to their business. The shrinking M&A market in UK has helped top five law firms of UK to tighten their grip on it. But rest of the law firms are struggling to survive in the environment.

According to the statistics from Thomson Reuters, the top five law firms of UK accounted for 67 percent of deal value of the entire transactions. This was just 37.9 percent in the first half on 2007-08.

This rapid increase of the percentage share shows how fast are these big five companies moving in according to the times.
  • Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer remains the top, though the number of deals fell from 64 to 44.
  • Slaughter and May makes it to top 2nd position from the earlier 9th position.
  • Linklaters which use to be in the 2nd position has to satisfy with 4th position this time.
  • Allen & Overy has got up to 3rd position from the previous 4th previously.
  • Cliffor Chance is the fifth of the Big Five, though it has declined from its earlier 3rd position.

A Look at the President's Plans: Obama Plans for 2009 Year

Obama has made a good history as the first black person to be elected to the White House. But will he make a history with his ruling as well. We know politicians make big promises to get into power, but how far they can fulfill them effectively?

Unlike Bush, Obama has many bigger problems to deal with. There is this economic crisis, then the unemployment, Iraq issues, security problems, and the list goes on.

Let’s check about US economy. Present condition is very worse and poses a big challenge. They have already $700billion allocated fro the task. But would the amount be enough?

Reducing insurance costs was one of the agendas of the Obama. However, will he be able to win against insurance companies, doctors, and pharmaceutical companies?

US is the highest pollution source of the world. Obama has this major thing in front of him and he will have to compel his own people to use less fuel.

Bush has left a big mess for Obama with Afghan and Iraq issues. Obama was also one of the persons who opposed this. Now what will he do?

Let’s wish him all the very best so that he can do right decisions and live up to the expectations of his people (who voted him).

But Santa was kind enough for Auto Industry.

December was a big relief for sinking Auto industry in the severe recession and crisis. When the big bigger companies of the industry were ready to break, we can just imagine the situation with poor small companies and their investment of non-selling stocks.

When compared with overall year, the numbers were very worst to compare. But December auto sales were better by around 20% compared to the sales in November.

This sends good signs to the industry and brings a big relief to them as they were ready to leave the battle field with a battered fate.

Let’s wish that the New Year brings some more good chances for them to survive at least because I don’t want to sell my new car as an antique piece.

Celebrating New Year - Why and Why Not

First of every January is very auspicious to the entire world because it pushes us into another fantastic year. It reminds us that Earth has completed a full revolution around the Sun. It reminds you what you have done the previous year and what it was meant to you. And most of all, it brings a great occasion on getting the entire world celebrate and party with you. I bet you will never get such a big company for your celebrations usually.

There are people in world who say they don’t celebrate New Year and some say they have a reason on why they celebrate it. It goes like this…

Why no to celebrate New Year? Because it makes us older by one more year. It forces us to spend more amid recession. People litter 25% more compared to other days. Our company has to release yearly results and those are poor and so on.

Why to celebrate? To welcome another year in our life. We are older by one more year. It’s a holiday. Goodbye to worst year of my life. To spend money. New calendar!

And so on.

How to Get Best Quality of Auto Parts for Your Vehicles

It is difficult to get the original auto parts for vehicles. If you are the owner of a vehicle and you are not aware how to get the high quality auto parts, I have some guidelines which will help you to get best parts.

When you are purchasing parts it is better to go directly to the dealer because you can have direct communication with dealer and you can also see the product physically, so that you can decide whether it is safe to buy or not.

It is better not to go for cheaper alternatives because they will not last longer and also decreases your vehicles fuel efficiency. If you buy products from online you may not get branded parts and will not have warranty for parts. If you want to get maximum benefit from your vehicle they should be perfect enough to serve you for longer. As a vehicle owner I prefer to buy genuine parts.

Why People Were Crazily After IT Jobs?

Actually it is really hard to compare the present situation of IT industry from the one few months back. It was those IT companies that embellished the IT guys to worthless extent.

I am sure they are paying now for those mistakes.

Let’s go to the good times before recession. People were rich (compared to present). Companies were craving for good people. Finance and IT sectors were ruling the global economy along with the soaring Oil prices interfering sometimes. Technology companies like Microsoft and Google are the spearhead for this trend.

It was the compensation levels in the IT industry that made people go after them crazily. The compensation levels of CIOs and IT executives were increasing rapidly since few business quarters. Slowly there was a shift in this craze to outsourcing countries and faded here.

Whatever may be the reason, it is a bad thing to run after something crazily for instant things.

Poverty Dramatically Affects the Children Thinking Pattern

In a study it is found that poverty affects certain brain functions in low income group families. The researcher Mark Kishiyama said that this is because, of reduction in prefrontal function. This stroke is more in the low income group children than the wealthy children.

Researchers pointed to the negative effects of undernourishment, stress, illiteracy and toxic environments in low-income children's lives, and the neural systems of underprivileged children develop in a different way from those of middle-class children, the ability to plan, remember details and pay attention in school.

Even though the effects of poverty are reversible, children need tremendous strong interventions to overcome this difficulty. In research it is found that poverty affects not only thinking capacity, but also functioning of brain and behavior of the person.

The researchers found an enormous dissimilarity in the low-income children's aptitude to detect block out distractions which is a major function of the prefrontal cortex.

What Can Auto Companies Do To Run Safe?

The crumbling economy is bothering all kind of Industries and people. You can hardly see any industry that is doing OK with the present situation.

Oil prices have gone so down that one can’t imagine that there could be such a lower price for oil. But people are not willing to spend on cars as oil prices have declined. It would be a big joke if somebody ever did that. As a result we see sales are declining in the auto industry in this quarter. There are many big auto industries which are likely to go bankrupt unless they get some aid from someone.

The $34 billion bailout plan, proposed by the top three auto industries may not be really as sufficient for them to survive. As we can see the bad times are likely to continue for more months. And probably it won’t be practical to look for government every time to help them.

But there are many ways for auto industries to cope up with the situation. The best thing would be to take aid of the government to raise the consumer confidence. And then provide people with proper aids to purchase their products.

I Love To Attend Pottery Classes

Everyone has a hobby and feel pleasure while doing it. One of my hobbies is pottery, when I first listened about it through my friend; I was not so interested for that, continuously listening to my friends experiences about this forced me to take it as my hobby.

Hobby can be anything and without any training we can do it but for doing it perfectly or to know more about the hobby attending the hobby classes is a very good option. With increase in interest on pottery, I decided to go to pottery classes and believe me after attending the class my perception regarding the pottery was completely changed. Every week I eagerly wait for the classes, every time I regain my experience and feelings while attending classes that make me feel happy.

While doing pottery I feel like relaxed and fresh. I learned more about the pottery and started making use of it for decorating my home with beautiful earthen pots.

Ancient Olympics: Its Evolution and the End

Ancient Greeks used to celebrate Olympics as a resemblance of win of Zeus over Titan Cronus.

What ever may be the reason, but the ancient Olympics were celebrated very grandly than any of the events on earth at that time. As they were played to please Gods, they had every thing that a traditional ritual should have. This is what made the ancient Olympics the great celebrations of Greece.

Even those Olympics in ancient times had four year intervals, as we have now. The ancient Olympics were not held with as many games as we have today. The only game in the competition was a race of 190 meters. It was called as the Stadion race, the reason why we named our play grounds as stadiums.

More and more games were added accordingly, afterwards. They included boxing, wrestling, pankration, chariot racing, long jump, disc throw, etc. Almost all of them were involved with fighting or running; the true talents that a soldier must possess in a war.

Then Romans started to take over the Greece, and slowly Olympics lost their significance. And finally, they were abolished for 1500 years by a Christian Emperor named Theodosius.

Iran Announces Missile Tests Officially

After invasion on Iraq, US is on high alert with Iran. Though it is not proved that Iran is possessing nuclear weapons, missile tests pose a major security threat to other countries, and mostly with Israel.

Iran recently announced its test-fire of surface to surface missile. The range of this missile is said to be about 1200 miles, and thus it could easily target up to south-eastern Europe.

And Israel has said that they are very concerned about is, as even its territory comes under the range of test fired missile.

Meanwhile, US is also concerned about the Iranian missile tests and said it violates the UN resolutions. I think that it is concerned because of the acquisition of such high-tech missiles by a country like Iran will pose a threat to its superiority, in case of some war in future against Iran or some other countries which Iran may support.

Execution of Bali Bombers in Indonesia

The deadliest terrorist attack in the history of Indonesia occurred in 2002 in one of its Island called Bali. Indonesia at last executed the responsible terrorists for this who claimed lives of more than 200 people.

It was in 12 Oct 2002 when this worst attack took place. This attack claimed lives of 202 people. Most of the deceased were foreign nationals. Around 164 foreigners died in this attack. Also there were 209 people injured.

The responsible for this attack were three people of Jemaah Islamiyah group. These three militants were executed by Indonesian Government.

However many people turned out to welcome these bodies, calling them Martyrs. They were the responsible for the death of so many innocent people and still they are called as Martyrs. It is this blind encouragement from people that enhances these terrorists to do all sorts of bloody acts.

As the response from the supporters of these three terrorists Indonesia fears risk of revenge attacks. Though the supporters are limited to a minority of 235 million citizens of Indonesia, there are high possibilities of someone turning out to embark revenge attacks.

What Made Lehman Brothers To Go Bankrupt?

Lehman brothers’ was the largest bankruptcy in the history of US. Nobody expected that something like this would happen even to the bigger companies. It was a global company offering financial services to very bigger companies.

It was in 1850 that this firm started as a dry-goods store in Alabama. Two brothers, Emanuel and Mayer Lehman, expanded their business step by step, and their family members took it generation after generation to the state what it was prior to bankruptcy, the fourth largest investment bank in US.

Its significant destruction started in 2007 when it closed its BNC Mortgage, deploying 1,200 employees in 23 locations. It was subprime mortgage crisis in 2008 that made Lehman loss significantly as it held on larger positions of subprime. Then the year started as a bad luck to the company in the form of lower-rated mortgage-backed securities. On September, bank was making talks with Bank of America and Barclays to sell its company, to which both of them declined. It was on 2008, September 15th when its share plummeted more than 95%. And situations for Lehman declined day by day and finally on September 20, it was declared bankrupt.

There Are More Volcanoes On Earth

Only a person living near volcanoes knows how dreadful and dangerous the volcanoes are. History says that there are many disasters related to volcanic eruptions. The thing that makes volcanoes more dreadful is that it is a little complicated thing to predict on when a volcano erupts. The earliest recorded disaster was in 76AD when a volcano named Mount Vesuvius buried a city in Italy with its thousands of people; around 75 feet beneath the ash. There are lot more disastrous incidents, related to volcanoes. The island of Krakatoa, has almost disappeared into the sea in 1883 because of the giant 130 feet tsunami wiped it off along all the nearby villages, after a heavy volcanic eruption. Around 100,000 people lost their lives with this incident. Every continent has some volcanoes, no matter whether they are inactive or active.

Recently, researches discovered over thousand more of these volcanoes under seas with the help of satellites. At present we have as many as 201,055 volcanoes in oceans and seas.

“Thanks For the Beautiful Sink” My Friend Said To Me

A month ago, my friend was planning to re-build two 2 bathrooms and also want to change their pedestal sink. She was very busy in making arrangements.

One day she asked my help in selecting pedestal sink, I said ok to her request. After one day of her request I was left with two choices for pedestal sink. I found two designs of pedestal sink were so impressive that I was not able to finalize one.

Then I asked my friend to select one pedestal sink from the two sinks. She was surprised with the designs of pedestal sink that she was praising me for selecting such wonderful designs. After looking at design she decided to buy the two pedestal sinks and time I took for choosing one sink you can imagine how beautiful the designs were.

She found pedestal sink so impressive that she found one more area to fix the second pedestal sink in her home. Recently I visited her home, I was surprised with the look of the sink. By looking at the sink she was thanking me for choosing such wonderful designs of pedestal sink.

I was so impressed by the pedestal sink, decided to install them at my home as soon as possible.

It Is Regular For My Father to Take Alcohol Testing

You can hardly find anyone who do not consumes alcohol in party time. My dad has the habit of boozing all the time. His applaud able conscious about his health is always amazes me. Testing his alcohol levels using different types of alcohol testing is a daily task to him. He takes the test based on four specimens i.e., Urine, Blood, Breathe, and saliva tests. With modern technology and huge variety of products, performing these test become more easy and simple to do.

Urine Alcohol Test:
This test indicates the presence of alcohol in a person’s body, but it takes up to 2 hours for alcohol to show up in person’s urine. Urine alcohol test is less expensive when compared to other alcohol tests, is reason for conducting these test twice in a week.

Blood Alcohol Test:
Blood alcohol test is accurate and expensive when compared to other alcohol tests. Blood tests are least used method in testing for alcohol because of their high cost. These test is performed my father if positive result in urine test has found.

Alcohol Breathalyzer Test:
The common form of breath alcohol testing is Breathalyzer test. Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) is indirectly estimated by measuring the amount of alcohol in one’s breath. This is the test, which my father conducts compulsory after every drink he takes.

I always encourage him to take these tests as I found he is doing what he wants to do at least with some health conscious.

Queen Elizabeth II Visited Google

In the history of internet especially Google, Britain Queen Elizabeth II was the first Monarch to send an e-mail. She used Google in October and Google was celebrating it as victory by creating special version of its home page, which featured a silhouette of her head instead of second “G” and a regal crown a the top of “E” in their logo.

Queen visited the head quarters of Google and uploaded clip of 1969 reception at Buckingham Palace for British Olympians.

During her visit with her husband and prince, went through the demonstration of the company’s technology and met the school students who won a competition to design their own Google “doodles.” They also met users of Google-owned You Tube video website including a Peter Oakley, as 81 year old known as “Geriatric 1927.”

What Advertising Can Fix?

Companies spent huge amount in advertising their products and services. Companies think advertising plays a significant role in improving their sales. But I my opinion, improving sales is not depend only on the advertising.

Advertising helps only in creating awareness about the company’s product and services but not to the actual sales. I generally watch advertising for fun. Some advertising have good concept and feel like only watching the advertisement but not for actual purchase of products. Some advertisement creates a negative impression on product and the company. Companies waste huge amount by using film stars, sports stars in their advertisement.

Using these amounts, company can plan in maintaining good quality and in research and development for invention of better products. With only advertisements the company cannot improve their sales. If company spends, these amount in research and development department, in providing better quality products at cheaper price or affordable prices. Company feels that by increasing advertising expenses they can sell poor quality of products to the consumer. I personally feel, advertising contributes 10-20% for increasing sales.

Do You Have An Idea Who Is An Interpreter

Most of the people have the confusion when they heard the terms Interpreter and translators. On the basic level it would appear that there is a small difference between both. I got the information on the differences between interpretation and translation when I was surfing. A translator must be able to write well and be able to express words, phrases, suggestions and other linguistic shade between languages on paper. I have read that most of the translators of doing different translations like Chinese translation, Japanese translation, German Translation or Norwegian translation have the luxury of time, resources, reference material and the freedom to take a break when needed. Their pressures are relatively limited. Here is some information get to know what an interpreter does……..

An interpreter has to be able to translate spoken words in two directions. They do this using no resources or reference material bar their knowledge and expertise. An interpreter is required to find linguistic solutions to problems on the spot. Therefore the pressure can be quite strong. As interpreting involves in real time work done. Many would have seen an interpreter sitting in a booth wearing a pair of headphones and speaking into a microphone at a conference or large diplomatic meeting such as the EU or UN. An interpreter has the unenviable task of quickly digesting what one person is saying before immediately translating it to others. One of the key skills simultaneous interpreters must demonstrate is decisiveness. They must think quickly and on their feet.

A Norwegian translator in his perception said that….

“If you need someone to translate something that is written you need the services of a translator. If you need someone to translate the spoken word, you need an interpreter.”

Online movies and Copyright laws

Watching out movies online became one of the easiest ways of entertainment. Getting out to watch a new movie isn't only not a problem- but getting to see it for absolutely no charge is also possible for those with Internet access. Home makers are very happy with online movies as they just need a basic Internet knowledge. For the people who are not knowledgeable about the present Internet status, many copyrighted movies can be legally watched online for free. These online movies will commonly be made free to the general public, or their rights will be bought from webmasters who then turn around and offer the content free on their websites to bring in more traffic from around the world.

Copyright laws aren't perfect in every country. In some cases, technicalities will be apparent that enable webmasters to put Hollywood movies online and offer them for free, without the fear of receiving a subpoena. It can sometimes still be illegal to watch such movies if the Internet user hails from a country with different copyright laws. It's best to not watch movies from such sites if one isn't aware of their country's copyright laws.

Watching free movies, movie clips and TV shows online isn't such a hard task once one knows where to get them. It's just a matter of knowing where to look and what to do. Just keep in mind that copyright laws can be very strict, and before engaging in anything that may seem illegal, consult a legal professional or review copyright laws in one's own country before continuing.

Principles of corporate governance

Key elements of good corporate governance principles include honesty, trust and integrity, openness, performance orientation, responsibility and accountability, mutual respect, and commitment to the organization. Commonly accepted principles of corporate governance include:

Rights and equitable treatment of shareholders
Organizations should respect the rights of shareholders and help shareholders to exercise those rights. They can help shareholders exercise their rights by effectively communicating information that is understandable and accessible and encouraging shareholders to participate in general meetings.

Interests of other stakeholders
Organizations should recognize that they have legal and other obligations to all legitimate stakeholders.

Role and responsibilities of the board
The board needs a range of skills and understanding to be able to deal with various business issues and have the ability to review and challenge management performance. It needs to be of sufficient size and have an appropriate level of commitment to fulfill its responsibilities and duties. There are issues about the appropriate mix of executive and non-executive directors. The key roles of chairperson and CEO should not be held by the same person.

Integrity and ethical behavior
Ethical and responsible decision making is not only important for public relations, but it is also a necessary element in risk management and avoiding lawsuits. Organizations should develop a code of conduct for their directors and executives that promotes ethical and responsible decision making. It is important to understand, though, that reliance by a company on the integrity and ethics of individuals is bound to eventual failure. Because of this, many organizations establish Compliance and Ethics Programs to minimize the risk that the firm steps outside of ethical and legal boundaries.

Disclosure and transparency
Organizations should clarify and make publicly known the roles and responsibilities of board and management to provide shareholders with a level of accountability. They should also implement procedures to independently verify and safeguard the integrity of the company’s financial reporting. Disclosure of material matters concerning the organization should be timely and balanced to ensure that all investors have access to clear, factual information.

Spain Win Euro 2008 Title After Four Decades

Spain won the Euro 2008 title after beating Germany 1-0 in Ernst-Happel Stadium on 29th Jun. Striker Fernando Torres' strike at the 33rd minute proved the winner of the match. The Spanish team play without leading scorer David Villa due to injury fielded a five-player midfield and thus took an upper surrender their German opponents which adopted the same formation. The Spanish team conquered the midfield through fluent passing and Torres was a constant threat to the German goal. Torres could have broken the deadlock at the 20th minute but his header was deprived of by the post.

Cesc Fabregas, who made his first start in the tournament, seemed not used to his new role and was substituted out in the second half. And the German coach made three substitutions in the second half, trying to turn the tide over. But his team just could not take over the plan from the Spanish midfield led by Andres Iniesta. The Spanish team kept the ball most of the time in their control on the group and penetrated the German defence with neat short passes. They could have scored more goals if not for poor finishing. At the time the Spanish team had 13 attempts at the goal while Germany only had 4. And German captain Michael Ballack came close for Germany, shooting narrowly wide after the break. This is the second time Spain wins the European championship. Their only other European title was won 44 years ago.

Capabilities of Baselines

While marking approval status covers the majority of uses for a baseline, baselines may also be established merely to signify the progress of work through the passage of time. In this case, a baseline is a visible stake through an endured collective effort, e.g. a developmental baseline. Baselines may also mark milestones; albeit some milestones also signify approval.

Baselines themselves are valued not only for their ability to identify the notable state of work product(s) but also provide particular importance in their ability to be retrieved. Once retrieved, the state of the work product(s) in that subset shares the same significance in their history of changes that this significance was observed. The baseline is then regarded with poignant qualities (either favorably or unfavorably). For this reason, baseline identification, monitoring, and retrieval are critical to the success of configuration management. However, the ease of retrieving any given baseline varies according to the system employed for performing configuration management which may use a manual, automated, or hybrid approach. Once retrieved, the baseline may be compared to a particular configuration or another baseline.

Most baselines are established at a fixed point in time and serve to continue to reference that point (identification of state). However, some baselines are established to carry forward as a reference to the item itself regardless of any changes to the item. These latter baselines evolve with the progression of the work effort but continue to identify notable work products in the project.

Legal Aspects of Drug Testing

Know your rights. They are very important. Even though when an employer is paying for the test it belongs to them. At least ten states (Arkansas, Illinois, Maryland, Nebraska, New Jersey, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Virginia and Texas) have outlawed the sale of synthetic urine or adulterants for the purpose of passing drug test however obtaining one drug test kit on the Internet is possible.

  • Workplace Testing: In most countries, employers are currently allowed by law to require that workers submit to urinanalysis to be considered for employment and/or to retain their employment. Countries and states have laws which often limit how and when testing can be done, such as requiring that the company have a written policy, that 'random' testing not be used this is more common in certain unions.
  • Criminal Testing: Courts around the world now often require people awaiting trial (not yet convicted) or people who are on probation to submit to regular urine testing but the parol and probation department is changing over to sweat patches.
  • Hospital Testing: In the US, some areas have required pregnant women to be tested for illegal drug use as part of their prenatal care. The US Supreme Court ruled the secret testing of women unconstitutional in the case of Ferguson v City of Charleston, in March 2001.
According to a bill, grants would be given to school districts for "Drug-Free School Demonstration Programs." But funds would only be granted to districts that met a series of requirements. The first requirement listed is that the program "includes, consistent with the fourth amendment to the Constitution of the United States, random drug testing of students." The US Supreme Court has upheld the testing of student athletes and students involved in extracurricular activities, but not addressed the constitutionality of random drug tests of all students. If your kid wants to be on an extra curricular activity they may have to be tested and should use the related drug test kits if proved that your child is doping, now that is oxymorionic.

Data Transmission

Data sending is essentially the same thing as digital communications, and implies physical sending of a message as a digital bit stream, represented as an electro-magnetic signal, over a physical point-to-point or point-to-multipoint communication channel. Examples of such channels are copper wires, optical fibers, wireless communication channels, and storage media. Data sending is a subset of the field of data communications, which also includes computer networking or computer communication applications and networking protocols, for example routing and switching.

The first data sending applications in modern time were telegraphy (1809) and teletypewriters (1906). The fundamental theoretical work in data sending and information theory by Harry Nyquist, Ralph Hartley, Claude Shannon and others during the early 20th century, was done with these applications in mind. Data sending is utilized in computers in computer buses and for communication with peripheral equipment via parallel ports and program ports such us RS-232 (1969), Firewire (1995) and USB (1996). The principles of data sending are also utilized in storage media for Error detection and correction since 1951. Data sending is utilized in computer networking equipment such as modems (1940), local area networks (LAN) adapters (1964), repeaters, hubs, microwave links, wireless network access points (1997), etc.

In ring networks, digital communication is utilized for transferring some sound calls over the same copper cable or fiber cable by means of Pulse code modulation (PCM), i.e. sampling and digitalization, in combination with Time division multiplexing (TDM) (1962). Telephone exchanges hit embellish digital and software controlled, facilitating some value added services. For example the first AXE ring exchange was presented in 1976. Since late 1980th, digital communication to the end user has been possible using Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) services. Since the end of 1990th, broadband access techniques such as ADSL, Cable modems, fiber-to-the-building (FTTB) and fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) hit embellish wide spread to small offices and homes. The underway tendency is to replace traditional telecommunication services by packet mode communication such as IP telephony and IPTV.
