Warning Signs of Teenage Drug Abuse at Home

It is known that teenagers are more influenced to use illegal drugs. Though many of them know about the bad consequences of using them, they continue using them to enjoy the pleasure and to get deviated from stress and depression. Are you even worried and suspicious that your teens are taking drugs? Then there are some warning signs that you need to see in your kids at home. Have a look on some of them.

Warning signs of drug abusing teenagers at home:
  • Losing interest in family related activities
  • Getting away from responsibilities
  • Being verbally and physically abusive
  • Initiating arguments for every issue
  • Disrespecting family rules and distracting from them
  • Frequent and constant excuses of behavior
  • Increase or decrease in appetite suddenly
  • Coming late to home
  • Wandering with new group of friends
  • Hiding their school and other activities
  • Frequently telling lies and silly reasons
  • Spending alone in their rooms for longer times
  • Talking to their friends secretly
  • Disappearance of valuable items at home

However, some of these signs are even found because of the valid life stage of adolescence. Apart from these, if you find cigarette rolling papers, roach clips, small glass vials, and remnants of drugs in their room, you can say that they are taking drugs. Also, check for certain physical signs like needle marks, neglected appearance, chronic cough, runny nose, sudden weight loss or weight gain, and so on. It is mandatory that parents should conduct drug tests at home to confirm if they suspect that their teens are taking illicit drugs.
