Exercises Involved In Basic Yoga Session

For beginners, yoga positions will be different in yoga sessions. These yoga positions can be done easily.

The exercises involved in the basic yoga session for beginners are:

  • Warm up session: This consists of simple, basic moves. Yoga session may begin with only warm up session movements in the beginning stage.
  • Standing poses: These poses helps in aligning the feet and the body. They also helps in proper digestion and blood circulation.
  • Sitting poses: Sitting poses will generally help in improving the breath. They also aid in shaping the buttocks and legs and improve strength and flexibility in the spine.
  • Twists: Twists help in relieving backaches and improves flexibility in the shoulders.
  • Supine and prone poses: These postures helps in liberating tension in the abdomen and improves the spine's mobility.
  • Balance poses: Balance postures helps in developing coordination and in improving stamina, strength, grace and agility. They also help in improving concentration.
  • Back bends: Backbends helps in releasing tension present in the front body and shoulders.
  • Finishing poses: Yoga session must compulsorily finish with cooling-down exercises.
Once the beginners are able to do these exercises comfortably, then they can start doing more complex moves. The postures can be modified and also the level of intensity can be moderated.
