Treatment for Mouth Ulcers Using Aromatherapy Oils

Mouth ulcers are referred to as open sores inside the mouth that are caused due to breaking of mucous membrane and they can develop on the tongue, roof of the mouth and in the grooves between gums and cheeks. Mouth ulcers can be caused by a mild viral infection and it starts burning, causes irritation, pain and swelling on the affected area. Treatment for mouth ulcers and gum pains can be done using aromatherapy.

Use cotton buds to dip in Tea tree oil that can be applied to the ulcer. It will provide immediate relief especially when the ulcers are a result of bacterial and viral infections. A drop of peppermint essential oil can be applied on mouth ulcers to relieve pain, irritation and also to prevent bad breath, it also gives cooling effect.

Lemon essential oil which is rich in vitamin C helps to cure mouth ulcers and relieve pain. Germanium essential oil and myrrh essential oil can be used as aromatherapy constituents to cure ulcers. Mouthwash are also helpful to cure ulcers. You can add a drop of tea tree, lemon or germanium to a glass of water and then gargle and rinse your mouth and finally spit out the water.

Mouth is a sensitive part of the body and it is essential to keep it in a good condition. People suffering from mouth ulcers cannot eat, talk or even find difficulty in opening the mouth because of pain. Good care and dental hygiene is also important to protect the gums inside the mouth. An immediate remedy should be taken to stop and cure moth ulcers.
