Dos And Don'ts Of Babysitting

Babysitter is a person who looks after the children safely and makes them happy when parents are distant or off for a short period.

Babysitting Dos
  • Should know the phone number and address where the parents can be reached.
  • Should know all emergency numbers such as the local police, fire department and poison control.
  • Should know the place where the first aid kit is kept and it is better to have first aid skills such as CPR.
  • Should compulsorily follow instructions for the child's snacks, activities and bedtime.
  • Should follow all the family instructions for watching TV and talking on the phone.
  • Should plan fun activities such as playing board games and watching a good DVDs.

Babysitting Don'ts
  • Should not call or chat with friends all night, even if permitted to use the phone. Phone should be used only for emergencies.
  • Friends should not be invited to bay sitting.
  • Kids should not be fed with hot dogs, hard candies or peanut butter cuz as kids can easily get suffocated, or be allergic to, these foods.
  • Should not try to babysit many children at a time. It may look a good method to make extra cash, but must know the number of kids that can be handled safely.
  • Kids should never be left alone and should be checked frequently after going to bed.
