Pros And Cons For Nitrogen In Car

Nitrogen can also be used for inflation of car tiers. Nitrogen is better than the compressed air in the tires. It is a natural gas and it does not react to the temperature fluctuations.

The pros and benefits of nitrogen tire inflation:
  • Tire inflation: The nitrogen in the tires will maintain for longer period than the air pressure. Because nitrogen molecule have large size than the oxygen molecule. Due to its large size molecule, it will leak less through the tire valve.
  • Car handles better: Nitrogen in tire will controls the car better during the slippery conditions and light rainy showers. It handles the car much better than the air compressed tire.
  • Fuel efficiency: The improper tire will increases the fuel consumption and decrease the fuel efficiency. The nitrogen will retain the tires for longer period. The proper and longer life tires will improves the fuel efficiency.
  • Avoid rust: Air contains oxygen that combines with water vapor. The water vapor will reacts with metal rims and leads to deposition of rust. Where as nitrogen does not contain water vapor and it will increases the life of the tire.
  • Saves money: In the long run nitrogen in tires will save the money. It reduces the costs on repairing and replacing.

The cons of nitrogen in car tires:
  • Harder at lower speed: The nitrogen tire will handle the car better in many conditions. But it will less grip the road at lower speed.
  • Can’t be repaired: If air compressed tire fails it can be repaired at low cost. However, nitrogen cars can be repaired. If any damage occurs you, need to replace the tire. Replacement of tire is more expensive.
  • Decreased ability to self-clean: The oxygen filled tires can be easily clean. Nitrogen filled tires will not clean them. The nitrogen kits are more expensive.

Different Types of Climate Controlled Storage Units

There are generally three different types of climate controlled storage units. They are temperature controlled, humidity controlled, and combination of both. These units have better isolation and hence they are less sensitive to dust.

In Temperature controlled units, the temperature is generally maintained at 50-75 degrees. This facilitates to keep moths and insects distant from items stored. This type of storing environment is very much suitable for storing furs, and expensive furniture.

In Humidity controlled unit, humidity level is generally maintained at 55 RH (Relative Humidity) or less, because at this level mold and mildew growth is restricted. The most common items that can be stored in humidity controlled unit are paper products like files, important documents, etc, which are sensitive to mold and mildew, electronics, like computers and computer parts which are sensitive to rust and dust, musical instruments with wooden and metal parts like pianos which are sensitive to rust and dust and contributes to corrosion. All types of mattresses which are sensitive to mold, home furniture like antiques which are sensitive to corrosion, rugs and carpets which are sensitive to mold can be stored. Bikes, tools, refrigerators, freezers and objects made of iron which are sensitive to rust, and furs which are sensitive to thickening of leather due to oil loss caused due to excessive heat and humidity, and also due to damage caused by moths and insects can also be stored.

The Humidity and temperature controlled units is a combination of both and it is very expensive.
