Different Methods Of Self Storage Security

Self storage security is very important factor when renting self storage space. Every self storage facilities need to have a self storage security plan in place. Self storage security can range from basic security protection to high end total security of storage space. It depends on the value of the items that are stored.

Check these things before storing your valuables in storage unit:
  • There should be general security alarms in each storage unit that is supervised.
  • Fire and smoke alarm systems should be present which can control accidental fires from spreading.
  • There should be controlled 24 hour access systems that tracks customers and visitors as they enter and leave the place.
  • Key code or swipe card access should be provided for storage unit to track individuals accessing each storage unit.
  • There should be Intercom systems that restricts unauthorized access to specific private areas.
  • There should be 24 hour guard service or security guard spot service with complete information.
  • There should be lightning systems which are motion sensitive on the internal & external buildings and corridors.
  • Perimeter fencing or concrete walls should be present to prevent thieves from entering or exiting the place undiscovered.
  • Reinforced storage units provide added security against redundant breaking.
  • There should be sole key holder policy to make sure that there is only one person with a key to storage space.
