Among all the major grand slams, Wimbledon is the ancient one and it began in the year 1877. The US open started initially in 1881. French Open was started initially during 1891 and the Australian Open was initiated in 1905.

Almost every year all the four grand slams were played. Some of the grand slams are conducted during day and some are conducted during nights.

One is considered as the achiever of Grand Slam if the player has won in all the four major grand slams of the year or the team of the doubles had won all the titles of all the tournaments.
