Who is More Vulnerable to Drugs

We often see people who get attracted to drugs and become drug addicts. However there are some people who keep themselves away from the drugs. Why some people easily become drug addicts but why not others?

Vulnerability of a person towards harmful drug addiction differs from person to person as it the case with any other disease. A person who is more exposed to risk factors will have higher chances of abusing and addiction.

We cannot mention even a single factor that a person can become addict. It all depends on the situation and the environment. The overall risk for addiction towards drugs is influenced by their developmental stage, surrounding social environment such as conditions at home, school at the neighborhood.

Many analysts and experts say that teenagers and people with mental disorders are at greater risk of illicit drug abuse and addiction than the normal people. Teens generally get attracted to these drugs by watching their friends, parents or neighbors abusing.

In contrast with this, people particularly children whose environment at home, school and neighborhood are less likely to get influenced by these drugs.
