Long Term Effects of Heroin Abuse

Like many other drugs which are mostly abused, Heroin also shows harmful and dreadful effects on the body. The effects may last for a short time or they may affect an individual through out his life. What ever may be the duration, the addicts should compulsorily suffer from the adverse consequences of abusing. Many people know about the facts of harmful effects of Heroin abuse, but still they continue to do the same. Drug addiction can happen due to
any problem but the problem which made a person addicted will never be resolved by continuing them. The only solution is to leave them and to make lives worthy.

Some effects of Heroin abuse will not be seen immediately, they ruin the lives for life time showing long term effects. Here are some long term effects which are caused due to Heroin abuse.

• The major effect of Heroin which remains for a long time is addiction. Heroin is considered as one of the highly addictive drugs. Heroin abusers spend more and more time for getting the same excitement they get in their initial stages ignoring the fact that the more the Heroin the lesser is the pleasure obtained. This leads to serious addiction. And after getting addicted, using drugs will become the primary purpose of life for the drug addicts.
• Regular abusers of Heroin fail to use the sterile technique and they will share the same equipment used for injecting and snorting. This leads to spreading of various infectious diseases like HIV/AIDS and hepatitis. Lack of sterile techniques also leads to heart lining infections. Sharing of snorting straws leads to hepatitis C infection which is a severe liver infection.
• When the highly addicted people try to stop using that drug they will experience serious with drawl symptoms which include extreme craving for drug, restlessness, body pains etc.

It is better to take positive action when the situation is in our hands. Long term effects are some thing which are out of our hands. So, it is better to leave these drugs the moment you saw some short term effects caused by Heroin.
